Senior Test Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities:
•    Make use of software requirements documents by formulating comprehensive test plans and testing schedules.
•    Work closely with our engineering team to determine causality of software defects and assist in documentation and resolution.
•    Responsible for the overall black box and white box testing of our networking appliance, server setup, and user interface.
•    Assist the QA Director in determination of risk for defects found. This will be done by understanding end-user impact and frequency of occurrence.
•    Utilize automated tools to decrease the time of a software testing cycle. May use server side scripting or programming as needed to conduct automated testing.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with engineering teams engaged in embedded software development. Must be well versed in Quality Assurance methodology, test planning, automated testing tools and overall risk assessment.

•    3-5+ years of professional Software Quality Assurance experience, preferably with network appliances. (Embedded testing exp. Preffered)
•    Strong understanding of Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, Redhat, BSD, etc.)
•    Experience using automated tools for regression testing, load or stress testing.
•    Extensive experience creating test plans and testing scenarios for network based applications.
•    Working knowledge of firewalls and Virtual Private Networks.
•    Experience working remotely with development and QA teams.
•    Use of defect tracking systems and a clear understanding of how to communicate product deficiencies to and engineering team.

Education Requirements:
BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field.
